• Both the cleanser and glycerol are soluble in wound fluid or skin moisture
• The superabsorbent starch copolymer contained in PolyMem draws wound fluid, which is known to contain natural growth factors and nutrients, to wound site
• Silver protects the dressing from microbial contamination
